Crypto compliance glossary

Plain definitions of the terms compliance teams search for.

Crypto address screening

Crypto address screening is a check of a single blockchain address against sanctions lists, labeled entities and on-chain risk indicators, run before you send funds to it or accept funds from it. The result is a risk score with the evidence behind it: which listed or high-risk entities the address is linked to, and how.

Wallet screening

Wallet screening is the process of assessing the risk of a crypto wallet by checking its addresses against sanctions lists, known entity labels and on-chain risk indicators. Compliance teams use it to decide whether to onboard a customer, approve a transfer or ask more questions about where funds came from.
