5. WordPress-Specific Processing

Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to detect spam.

An anonymized string (hash) from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible publicly.

Media

If you upload images, avoid uploading files with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may download and extract such data.

Cookies

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience (1 year).

  • A temporary cookie is set when visiting the login page to check browser compatibility; it contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

  • When logging in, cookies are set to save login information (2 days, or 2 weeks if “Remember Me” is selected) and display preferences (1 year).

  • Editing or publishing an article sets a cookie with the post ID, expiring after 1 day.

Embedded Content

Articles may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Such content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited those sites directly, which may collect data, use cookies, or embed additional third-party tracking.

User Accounts

If registration is enabled, we store the personal data provided in the user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal data at any time (except username). Administrators can also view and edit that information.

  • Withdraw consent at any time (Art. 6(6) LPD; Art. 7 GDPR).

You may also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if GDPR applies, with the competent EU supervisory authority.

10. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures (Art. 8 LPD; Art. 32 GDPR) to protect personal data against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or alteration.
